A significant chapter closes while another opens, imbued with emotion and ambition. After thirteen years leading La Table de Patrick Raingeard at Cap Estel in Èze, where he earned a Michelin star for his expressive culinary artistry, Patrick Raingeard returns to the essence of his craft. In late May 2025, he is set to open a new restaurant with his son, Édouard, called Père & Fils Raingeard, located on the Place de l’Abbé Cauvin in Contes, in the hinterlands of Nice.
A gourmet legacy – This familial venture marks a pivotal moment in the chef’s career. Trained under culinary icons like Alain Passard, Jacques Maximin, and Pierre Hermé, Patrick Raingeard began his journey in Brittany before finding his place on the Côte d’Azur. Notably, his impactful tenure at Zébra Square in Monaco from 2000, founded by Patrick Derderian, was a chic, trendy, and gourmet spot where Raingeard delighted a discerning clientele.
Later at the Mandarine restaurant in Port Palace, he achieved a Michelin star in 2009, further distinguishing himself at Cap Estel, where his name became synonymous with refined, precise, and genuinely sincere gastronomy.
A collaborative father-son partnership
Today, it’s alongside his son Édouard, a business school graduate with solid restaurant management experience, that Patrick Raingeard embarks on a new journey. Together, they are launching Père & Fils Raingeard, a restaurant envisioned as a “place of life and enjoyment,” featuring an open kitchen concept to promote interaction, emotion, and sharing.
A place of life and enjoyment, where the kitchen is the stage, and patrons are in harmony.
— Patrick Raingeard, Chef
An honest and committed cuisine
The menu, both accessible and generous, will highlight seasonal, organic, and local products. The goal? To offer a responsible and transparent gastronomic experience, true to the elegance of craft and the love of quality ingredients. The wine cellar will blend exciting discoveries with esteemed producer references, enhancing the sensory experience.
With this new venture in Contes, Patrick Raingeard returns to a more intimate culinary style, maintaining rigorous and dynamic qualities—a heartfelt cuisine, shared with his son, and delivered with passion.
